Arctic Wolf Agent for Linux: Extending Endpoint Visibility, Security Controls Benchmarking, and More

March 24, 2020

Having an increasingly mobile workforce combined with a greater number of employees working remotely means that companies need to manage a greater number of devices on their networks.

Unfortunately, network detection by itself is no longer good enough.

Endpoint visibility is therefore a critical requirement of securing the mobile workforce, especially as the attack surface becomes more widely distributed. While coverage exists today for Windows and MacOS environments, many departments operate their developer and server assets in Linux environments—and can find themselves unprotected.

This is why we’re happy to announce that the Arctic Wolf Agent—our unified endpoint technology—now supports Linux environments for our Managed Risk solution. This release extends the capabilities of the Managed Risk solution into Linux endpoints to dynamically classify and categorize inventory, scan for host-based vulnerabilities, and identify system misconfigurations that could leave the door open for attackers.

This new capability of the Arctic Wolf Agent is available now with the Managed Risk solution, with support for the most popular Linux distributions, including:

  • Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04
  • Red Hat 7 and 8
  • CentOS 7 and 8

This is the next phase along the path of introducing continuous enhancements to the Arctic Wolf Platform that includes enhanced monitoring and threat detection capabilities, endpoint threat detection, vulnerability assessment, security controls benchmarking, actionable insight, and more.

More about the Arctic Wolf Agent:

The Arctic Wolf Agent provides telemetry to understand the status of endpoints including asset information, operational metrics, system misconfigurations, and key behavioral insight from vulnerability scans. This audit and alert data enable the Arctic Wolf Concierge Security™ Team (CST) to provide continuous risk assessment, detect system misconfigurations, and threat detection to proactively alert organizations of potentially dangerous events, and to create rules to respond to and neutralize threats before they become larger incidents.

We’re excited to continually redefine the world of cybersecurity. For more information check out Arctic Wolf’s SOC-as-a-service, Managed Detection and Response, Arctic Wolf Agent, or Managed Risk services.
